Poems

bigfoot & the Flag

05JUL26

waving in the wind

don't stop the laughter
or go forth & cry
on the day after
the 4th of July

know Old Glory
still waves in the distance
& tells its story
with the same insistence

bigfoot can see
it reveal like a flower
even behind the tree
he feels its power

freeing the slaves
making new friends
as they both wave
in the winds

Poems

bigfoot & the Red

04JUL26

White & Blue

salute the red
white & blue
you should dread
if bigfoot fights you

old glory
slave to the wind
in an allegory
we wave to our big friend

over the land
on tall poles leaning
they both stand
in all souls meaning

they both move
like sister & brother
one is easier to prove
than the other

Happy 4th of July. Enjoy this Saturday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

Poems

the bigfoot show

03JUL26

must go on

bigfoot comes & goes
from the great beyond
he knows the show
it must go on

may not be that hard
to ride that steer
when your ace card
is to hide & disappear

we demand the wow
shout our pleas
his hand on the plow
out in the trees

up goes the curtain
in the eye of the storm
nothing is for certain
when the big guy performs

Enjoy your Friday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

This poem is a nod to “The Show Must Go On” by Queen in 1991. It was the final song released during Freddie Mercury’s lifetime.

Poems

bigfoot @ the Round Table

02JUL26

in the land of legends

is bigfoot good
or is he bad
roaming the woods
like Sir Galahad

are we his guests
following his trail
is he on a quest
for the Holy Grail

sword & lance
full of virtue
or looking for a chance
to hurt you

in your dreams
spinning door swirlin'
he sure seems
a lot more like Merlin

Poems

bigfoot imagination

01JUL26

running away with me

secrets they're keeping
my dreams from me
like bigfoot peeping
from behind a tree

lead me on dances
offer me drinks fizzy
the truth in glances
that leaves me dizzy

memories like glowing embers
what does it all mean
all I can remember
something tall was seen

all of these Temptations
humming like birds & bees
or "Just My Imagination
(Running Away With Me)"

Enjoy your Wednesday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

The fourth stanza is obviously a nod to the Temptations and their 1971 hit song “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)”.

Poems

bigfoot stealth

30JUN26

funds his wealth

bigfoot can slip
with no sound go
he is hip
to the down low

faster than your brain
until he mind speaks
master of his domain
for all you Seinfeld geeks

an athletic sage
new fences he hurdles
faster than a Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtle

out in the trees
acts, runs & goes nude
is he really free
exactamundo dude

impossible to find
bigfoot stealth
his peace of mind
is his wealth

Poems

bigfoot & Little Red Riding Hood

29JUN26

the power of beauty

through the woods
rolls a beautiful flower
Little Red Riding Hood
holds all the power

the lines are muddy
wherever she stands
the wolf is putty
in her hands

only a pup yet
ready to pounce
just a puppet
she makes bounce

takes his turn
plays with the girl
about to learn
ways of the world

doesn't know things
or understand why
it's on beauty's wings
that power flies

every student
tries for fun
more clever & prudent
& wise to run

in this test
bigfoot's mind is free
he quickly suggests
getting behind a tree

Poems

bigfoot hears the truth

28JUN26

he is quiet

the truth glistens
in the in between
bigfoot listens
to what it means

lies are a tomb
dark & cold
path to doom
truth not told

silence is just
about as bad
sneak if you must
it is just sad

the truth looks
in your reflection
open its book
sure is its direction

bigfoot thinks clear
in the night
it's easier to hear
when your quiet

Poems

bigfoot bleaches

27JUN26

no porcelain

has no tiny home
with a sink
all that shiny chrome
hard to think

no faucet
to drip & leak
he'd just toss it
take a dip in the creek

has no commode
this makes me blush
that big of a load
too hard to flush

has no stock
funded by payroll
hard as a rock
always on the roll

feet well worn
gavel in hand
sweet to be born
a travelin' man

as he teaches
a course we learn
bigfoot bleaches
no porcelain

Poems

bigfoot ignores

26JUN26

curb appeal

bigfoot is on the go
with speed fleet
he does not mow
or have to weed eat

no credit card
no car insured
no big yard
that is manicured

he sets sail
lays some tracks
with his nails
broken & cracked

I would bet
it's all rough
he doesn't sweat
the small stuff

bigfoot much amuses
makes his escape
pretty much refuses
to landscape

I noticed today’s date is a mirror date. 6/26/26. It is called a palindrome date. We are in the middle of a streak of 10 of them.
