instead of hiding in the woods
what is next
you know you should
send that text
time to feel good
time to groove
little red riding hood
time to move
instead of hiding in the woods
with the winds
in your face
and new friends
all over the place
it is your cup
make a snappier brew
it is all up
to the happier you
words that are rhyming
they come on wings
you know that timing
it is everything
I am continuing to restructure the Bigfoot section of the Drop Down Menu. I am also watching GoPro tutorials on You Tube and unboxing and figuring out the mounts as they are delivered. I already have all the long skateboards and helmets. I have a bicycle and the paddle board. I borrowed my nephew’s dual sport motorcycle and took it for a 45 mile ride on Hanging Rock Parkway between Dungannon and Coeburn VA on a Sunday afternoon. That was the day after the Woodbooger Festival in Norton VA. I had just driven my car on that parkway to go to the festival and back. My brother had told me that in some of those curves that I would see my tail lights. And that is true. It is a beautiful curvy steep road that goes thru the Jefferson National Forest. It is truly beautiful country. The roads that you take to get to it are just as beautiful. They are all carved out of the sides of mountains and hills and run along the side of creeks and rivers. My words really do not do them justice. But not to worry the drone and the GoPro will.
I thought that I was buying the motorcycle but they decided that they did not want to sell it. But they told me I could use it as much as I wanted. So I also plan to pick up a motorcycle at some point to shoot the videos with. That is on the back burner because I can borrow my nephew’s bike until I do a trial run to figure out how this is going to work. But I am currently monitoring the used bike listings on the internet. If a supermoto bike pops up with a price too good to pass up then the motorcycle purchase situation will move to the front of the queue. A supermoto is an off-road motorcycle that has been designed to be ridden mostly on asphalt and light trails. This will allow me to ride the curvy roads, dirt roads and trails to access the video footage that I am seeking. Anything much more wet or dangerous than that I will dismount and access on foot.
I left out the kayaks. My nephew has like a fleet of kayaks. He piles them in the back of his pickup truck and we take off. A few years ago we went on a kayaking adventure on the Clinch River from St. Paul to Miller Yard right above Dungannon. Every time I got in trouble which was pretty often I would look over to see him just dying laughing at me. He is also the one who inspired me to put the video of the guy using a chicken as a gimbal on the blog. I am still trying to figure out if he is a good or bad influence on me. That may take a while : )
I am also working on putting together a tentative schedule of bigfoot festivals that I will try to attend in 2026. At this point the plan is to attend and write a blog post about it and do a You Tube slide show on the festivals. I am also probably going to try to do some short interviews with some of the notable researchers and authors at these events. In the beginning those may be in the form of You Tube shorts.
I hope that you are making plans for something exciting and fun. And I hope that you pull them off like a PRO!!!
