cryptid

Poems

in the in between

30JUL25

begin to soar

ink is wet
page is dry
the words get
ready to fly

spread their wings
begin to soar
thoughts they bring
to open doors

able to win
in the face of defeat
it can happen in
a single heartbeat

over the land
like a holy hymn
nothing can stand
before them

something unseen
can still glow
in the in between
bigfoot knows

I am still in the holler. I plan to depart tomorrow. I still have a few things to do for my brother’s hilltop hayfield video. Hopefully you will be able to see it on the blog in the next week or so. I hope that you enjoy your Wednesday!

bigfoot with video

the cryptid cake

19JUL25

bigfoot is just one slice

is bigfoot nice
or is it a mistake
he is just one slice
of the cryptid cake

dogman is scarrier
universally understood
he's almost a barrier
to going into the woods

I am not playing
it's an easy decision
want my werewolves staying
inside of the television

no way I'm facing
that much strife
a dogman chasing
me for my life

his is dangerous territory
with too many fears
but if you've got a good story
I am all ears

There are a lot of good dogman stories out there. Most of them are terrifying. I have two books by Martin Grove about his experiences at Land Between the Lakes. He has done several videos on you tube. Matt Emch also tells very good story about a teenage experience that he and three other friends had with a dogman. According to him the three friends lives were derailed by the experience and the fact that their parents would not allow them to talk about it. His father did take him to a Catholic priest to talk about the incident. And their conversation was interesting.

Arla Williams claims to have encountered dogmen in her many travels. She has a bigfoot habituation situation on her farm. She doesn’t seem to be as frightened of the dogmen. She describes them as “having a different energy.” I suspect that the fact that she claims to have been interacting with bigfoot since she was a small child has something to do with her more relaxed perspective.

Tim “Coonbo” Baker tells that he didn’t believe that dogman existed until he did an investigation after two women arrived at work terrified because “a werewolf had looked into their car window and tried to steal their souls.” He said that at that point he had been documenting bigfoot sightings for years. And he realized that the first investigation that he ever did was a dogman. He had tried to convince the people that they had seen a bigfoot. So he went back to talk to them again. He told them that he thought they had seen a dogman instead of a bigfoot. The father had died at this point. But he said he would never forget the oldest son telling him. “We tried to tell you but you just wouldn’t listen.”

These names that I have dropped are probably kind of like a coming attractions or previews section for the blog. These people and their interview videos will make their way onto the blog.

And for those of you out there who are sure that bigfoot doesn’t exist then dogman is probably still a bridge too far at this point. No one is arguing with you. We are not here to recruit or convince. We are like the Jerry Springer show. “It’s all good.”

We are just here to goof off and have fun. And that really is what we want you to do as much as your busy schedules and obligations will allow you to do. So we stand here on the pier this morning and smile and wave as you sail off into your fun weekends. Remember fun is a frame of mind. As you paint your beautiful painting don’t forget about the frame : )

12OCT25

In reorganizing the blog I decided to add the Matt Emch interview video story to this post. It is a long interview. But it is a pretty good story. The interview is part of a A Flash of Beauty podcast.

Here is the link to the video.(2:08:02)

Poems

the library is dark

the book is closed

is it a flight
wings in the mist
or do I write
of things that don't exist

others have toyed
& tired of the locks
decided better to avoid
the siren on the rocks

by the extraordinary
find yourself marked
but the library
is in the dark

bigfoot looks
and already knows
some books
are kept closed

"& that is good"
hear there in my head
"it's out in the woods
where wisdom is fed"

Maybe I should have titled that “food for thought.” Enjoy your day!

Smile a lot!

Poems

bigfoot flies higher

a different path

I am a miner
for words I dig
to fly on an airliner
a bird that is big

from in the ground
to in the air
match their sound
make them pair

let off the brakes
let the wheels roll
along with them take
in their wings my soul

look to the sky
the runway is clear
I say goodbye
this day to fear

bigfoot is spying
as over I pass
he knows I'm flying
in first class

wind blows the sky
and the entire sea
he knows he flies
higher than me

even as I soar
over the trees
he sees more
than I see

under a different oath
on a different path
and we are both
okay with that

answer travel's call
sail with the swift
until the gavel falls
and the veil lifts

faithful souls
true our hearts
play our roles
do our parts

Risen not rotten
strong the rhyme flows
written about values forgotten
a long time ago

apes in caves
sasquatches unknown
He who escaped the grave
watches from His throne

the angels sing
heavenly voices lifted
"put bigger wings
on that cryptid"

shine their lamp
approve the good
bigfoot breaks camp
& moves thru the woods

Hope you have a great day. My smile rule is still in effect even on a Sunday : )

Poems

the cryptid’s crib

bigfoot always sees

earth is a house
without walls
Heaven allows
ours to rise & fall

the truth
is your soul
it is a roof
on a pole

the angels call
listen to what they say
don't let your walls
get in your way

angel wing flutter
you can hear
open the shutters
keep the windows clear

bigfoot always sees
what Heaven allows
because a tree
is a perfect house

Enjoy your Sunday!
