Bigfoot

Poems

bigfoot wisdom

lure of the new & shiny

with their prayers
the bell tolled
seeking repairs
for a flame grown cold

things new & shiny
took their toll
made them feel tiny
in their soul

something in them
began to think it
like the Indians
with their shiny trinkets

something tall
mindspoke behind a tree
"maybe it's not all
you hope it to be"

As you read & view videos in the bigfoot world it is kind of like walking thru the woods. And as you walk thru those woods you seem to cross a winding stream over and over. It is kind of like a bright thread running thru a beautiful tapestry. And this stream or thread seems to teach that there is an interconnectedness through all things in consciousness. This teaches that we should focus less on material possessions and more on our consciousness and state of mind.

Yesterday’s post spoke about the importance of being connected to the earth. And this goes hand in hand with trying to sort out and trying to figure out what is important. I think somewhere inside of us there is a tiny voice telling us that maybe everything that the world and advertisers have told us may not be the right path. I’m not saying that technology is bad. After all it is probably how you are reading this blog. But it is probably a mistake to ditch nature and the earth to the extent that we as a society seem to be doing. Maybe take a walk in nature and take some time to think about what is important and what really matters

And as usual the big man in the woods seems to be way ahead of us on this.

But on this day think about whatever it is that makes you happy. And smile-like a lot!

Poems

bigfoot is barefoot

fear at Nike

fear at Nike
terror at Converse
trouble in the psyche
it could get worse

how can we put
how will this end
Sasquatch barefoot
starts a trend

eyes wince
hearts pound
the silence
of skin on the ground

like a theft
by those paradoxes
new shoes left
in their boxes

it is a shocker
for one and all
no more Foot Locker
at the mall

Phil is mental
full of fright
refuses to go gentle
n2 that good Knight

a dreaded doomsday
a devastating storm
who's going to pay
for Oregon's uniforms

I know. It did not take us long to get back to the world of goofy. If you have not figured it out by now it is kind of how we roll in this blog.

I grew up in a holler in Appalachia. I remember my mom telling us the first morning of summer after school let out to “get out there & toughen up your feet.” And we would spend most of our summer walking & running around barefoot. I still remember the sensation of pulling a honey bee’s stinger out from between my toes. And I have very fond memories of buying a pop(usually a Coca-Cola in a glass bottle) & candy bar for 25ยข at my grandfather’s country store. Then my brother or sisters & I along with a gang of our cousins would walk barefooted back up a dirt road to our houses. And for some reason I can still vividly remember how the red clay mud used to squish up between my toes during or after a flash flood. There is a phrase that I have often heard repeated. We had it made and we didn’t even know it.

I did a quick check on the internet after I wrote this poem to check on bigfoot & running shoes. Brooks actually has a short time promotion. It is called Sasquatch Run Collection. But to me their picture of a Sasquatch looks more like a dogman or maybe even the Seattle Seahawk emblem. It definitely could be on a PNW totem pole. And I am pretty sure that is what they were going for. I also found several pairs of shoes for sale on Amazon. But it didn’t seem like any of them had sold.

When you start reading about the bigfoot phenomenon. You will start to see a lot of material about meditation and our connection to the earth. There is a wealth of information on the internet about the positive health benefits of walking barefoot on the earth. I would encourage you to google The Health Benefits of Going Barefoot on Earth.

I have come across a couple of lines of thought that think that bigfoot draws power and nutrition straight from the earth. There are also lines of thought that think he can draw it from electric sources. That is usually coupled with examples of so many sightings near power lines or sources of electricity. And the fact that a lot of researchers have their batteries drained is also cited.

some housekeeping

A lot of people have asked me about navigating on the blog on their mobile devices. When you get to the line that says Blog Posts if you tap the arrow on the right it will take you back to the very 1st post on the blog. But if you tap on Blog Posts on the left side it will take you to the most recent post. I hope that helps.

In this blog we have talked about bigfoot drawing power from the earth. I hope you learn how to draw power from the earth. And I hope you learn how to draw power from your own smile & that other people get to see your smile & draw power from it as well. And may what all of you draw be a thing of beauty. Maybe even a Flash!

Bigfoot

bigfoot goes to Wood Booger Grill

providers of hope

bigfoot is a concept
is in the mind
he has not left
just cannot find

riding the seas
Noah in his ark
hiding in same trees
bigfoot in the dark

trees are a haven
between the two
and the raven
both use that too

as Rome picks a Pope
and tries to decide
maybe it is hope
that these two provide

On 5/1/25 I visited Wood Booger Grill in Norton Virginia. I took several pictures of anything that related to bigfoot. The menu, food & service were excellent. And they were very gracious in allowing me to roam all over the place and snap pictures to my hearts content. They also gave me great directions to the Wood Booger Statue on the mountain.

You should be able to access the pictures here.

I would highly recommend this bigfoot themed restaurant to anyone. And if you have any interest or fascination with bigfoot it should be a no brainer. Just the drive to Norton is very beautiful. I was stuck in traffic for about an hour on Route 58 because of a semi accident. But even as I sat there I could not help but notice how beautiful the mountains are.

Coming soon the statue on the mountain.

Bluff Creek Bigfoot Poetry

Looking Across: A Tribute to Bigfoot

Now, as lightning pitchforked in dark pastures of sky
above the remote Bluff Creek wilderness,
dwindling sanctum of strange man-ape beings,
I felt a kinship with those lost hearts
beating hugely against the fall of time.

And as night gathered in the long canyons
I took the headlamp which would light me down
and signaled out across the miles; so, linked
at least in ceremony, Bigfoot and I moved
in separate sorrows along our evening trails.

This poem was published in Mountain Gazette, July 1975. I discovered it in the front of the book Bigfoot by B. Ann Slate and Alan Berry. This is an excellent bigfoot book. I plan to do several bigfoot book reviews later in this blog.
