hay on a hill

23JUL25

in no hurry

the mountains rise
to meet the clouds
with open eyes
and heads unbowed

they were born
a long time ago
they have been worn
by water and wind flow

strong they stand
in no hurry
they are the land
of the proud and blurry

every where they go
know no fetters
and if you don't know
that's even better

as they pass
thru the veil
time to roll the grass
into round bales

just be prepared
as you go
if you are aware
they will know

We flew all over a hill top yesterday. We filmed two tractors mowing hay in the morning. And then we filmed one tractor tethering the mowed grass in the afternoon. That is a process where they kind of fluff it up so it will dry faster. This morning I am meeting my bother up there again. He is going to bush hog a part of the field that he did not mow. I guess that is done if the terrain or vegetation is too rough to mow and bale. I always tell my brother that he has forgotten more about cattle and farming than I will ever know.

We viewed some of the video clips on the laptop last night. Some of it is very pretty. This video may be end up being little longer. We still have to film the raking and baling in the next day or two. I better wrap this up so I can get set up on the hill top on time. I’m pretty sure no farmer wants to wait on his camera man. And that is probably especially true if it is your brother : )

I hope you have a great day. We’re smiling a lot here and hope you are as well.
