hang out for a while

hardship & adversity

yes his classroom
is out in the trees 
where the flowers bloom
to feed the bees

no big prize 
is a diploma
when you can weaponize
your own aroma

can cause temporary blindness
& snuff out the candle
maybe it's kindness
it'd be too tough to handle

he might know

they are the truth

give you wings

like the springs
of Ponce de Leon

they are an escape

it may be time

the open road
may do you good
it's a heavy load 
a monster in the woods

all that greenery
a cryptid seed
a change of scenery 
the gift you need

time to discover
there is no fault
in laying some rubber
on some asphalt 

open a bottle
of magic elixir
pull back the throttle
on a gixxer

go have some fun
leave the man in the trees
time to run 
from all the insanity

don't let it grieve you
as you play
no one would believe you
 anyway

Yesterday I spent a lot of time riding the motorcycles filming with the GoPro. So between the riding and working with the footage on a computer screen I saw the open road a lot. That is probably part of the inspiration for this poem. We are getting closer to getting the motorcycle videos up on YouTube.
