learn the bigfoot smile

10APR26

for your own good

spend a while
in the woods
learn the bigfoot smile
for your own good

like the temple
of Kwai-Chang Caine
make things simple
for your brain

listen to your soul
lose your phone
take a stroll
into the unknown

learn to mix
with the unseen
forget your clicks
on a screen

things that matter
the birds & the bees
as the rain pitter patters
on the trees

Kwai-Chang Caine was a character in the TV series Kung Fu. The series ran on network television starting in 1972 for 3 years. It was a magical series that managed to teach a lot of life lessons about morality. You can still see clips of it on YouTube. A lot of people have purchased the shows on DVD. I am one of them : )

I have written in the blog about this before but I will mention it again. One of my favorite stories about the Kung Fu TV show is that the Allman Brothers Band would have to wait until the show was over to rehearse because Dickey Betts refused to miss an episode of the show. That story is kind of like bigfoot. It always makes me smile.

Enjoy your Friday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

Poems

give your palms

01FEB26

a rest on a tree

is Heaven above
the Holy Land
is it for love
that it stands

bigfoot waits
in the veil
are there gates
to a Hell

keep our heads level
what to do
they say the Devil
he believes in you

sin's cost
paid to free
Jesus on a cross
made of trees

midnight hour
sleep a wink
trees have more power
than we think

along hops
the rabbit
bigfoot stops
and taps it

live the Psalms
test and see
give your palms
a rest on a tree

living large
in the hills
able to recharge
at will

Enjoy your Sunday.

Poems

bigfoot identity crisis

the mayor’s office is a tree

bigfoot moves
thru the trees
the angel approves
of what it sees

uses stealth
escapes attention
it is his wealth
and his pension

it all allows
him free will
it is his house
on the hill

he is a player
he gets around
he is the mayor
the trees his town

out in the woods
living large
it is good
to be in charge

thru the rains
no coat to deal with
bigfoot remains
both real & a myth

take the test
as your reality swirls
he is in the best
of both worlds

Check out the home page and you will see that the blog now has a second name “bigfootpoet.com.” In the future you should be able to access the blog thru either name. So now along with bigfoot, poetry, music, articles on Hawaii and bigfoot flyovers you will have another avenue of entertainment. You can monitor our identity crisis : )

Several of the blogs readers have suggested that a new or second name might better reflect that there is poetry (or at least an attempt) every day.

I could go completely off the deep end and write something crazy and wacky like ” I feel bigfoot’s leading in this.” But for most of you out there just trying to put out a blog about bigfoot is probably crazy and wacky enough.

I hope that this blog isn’t the only crazy and wacky fun that you have today. Remember to smile.

bigfoot & mushrooms & being whimsical

climb on the limb

I have my duties
by them bound
but there is beauty
waiting to be found

so read the letters
in your oath
it is better
to do both

so be strong
along the way
but it is not wrong
to also play

sounds like a line
but it is true
it is better to combine
both of the two

climb on the limb
and you will see
be like him
out in the trees

For any of you who are checking in to see your photos from the Red River Gorge Bigfoot Fest I posted a link to them in Monday’s blog post. The title of the post is “bigfoot fun in the Gorge” and the title to the poem is “KBFRO throws a bigfoot party.” The link to the photos and videos is at the bottom of the post. I hope you like your photo.

One of the things that attracts me to the circus that is the world of bigfoot is the sort of whimsical quality of all of it. And I hope as you read this blog that you can tell that we have almost a reverence for the whimsical. Our lives should have fun in them. And they probably should have more fun in them than they have right now. It is pretty easy to get side tracked from that. As a matter of fact I am tempted to stop writing right now and meditate to get back on track : )

There are a lot of reports of bigfoot sightings and bear attacks while people are hunting for mushrooms. I am not sure which one would be more exciting. I am sure which one would be more terrifying and deadly. There are many t-shirts that you can buy with bigfoot and mushrooms on them. But none of that has anything to do with why I chose mushrooms as today’s topic. It is confession time once again in this blog. I chose today’s topic because I want to play a video of a mushroom coffee commercial that I like a LOT. So you see I am not joking about being whimsical.

I probably need to put in a disclaimer here. I like the commercial. I don’t know anything about the coffee. This is not a recommendation to buy it. But I do enjoy the vibe in the commercial.

We are only a few days past the Red River Gorge Bigfoot Fest and I am probably still a little bit in that whimsical fun vibe. And I firmly believe that is the vibe you should be in anytime you are dealing with bigfoot. Actually it is a good vibe to be in a lot of the time. Your vibe is important. Make sure you mind it. When you look to your vibe and you don’t like what you find there is a knob that you can use to adjust and fine tune it. It is called a…

smile : )

For any of you who are disappointed that we strayed too far off of the bigfoot trail today tomorrow we will try to get back on track. We may even do something with tracks and plaster casts of tracks.

I hope that you have a great day! Have a great vibe all day & don’t be afraid to use the knob to adjust it. And now without further ado…

Here is the link for the video.

Poems

the cryptid’s crib

bigfoot always sees

earth is a house
without walls
Heaven allows
ours to rise & fall

the truth
is your soul
it is a roof
on a pole

the angels call
listen to what they say
don't let your walls
get in your way

angel wing flutter
you can hear
open the shutters
keep the windows clear

bigfoot always sees
what Heaven allows
because a tree
is a perfect house

Enjoy your Sunday!
