Old Glory

Poems

bigfoot is waiting

29AUG26

so are we

hears the owl hoots
sing like valentines
are no combat boots
he has to shine

watches trees fall
to a nation
stands tall
but not in formation

a changing Rubik's Cube
lit by the moon
he constantly moves
but not in a platoon

mysterious ways
never brags
time to raise
the flag

do not shoot
hear his story
time to salute
Old Glory

out in the hills
follows his own drum
that is until
the Kingdom Come

Poems

bigfoot & the Flag

05JUL26

waving in the wind

don't stop the laughter
or go forth & cry
on the day after
the 4th of July

know Old Glory
still waves in the distance
& tells its story
with the same insistence

bigfoot can see
it reveal like a flower
even behind the tree
he feels its power

freeing the slaves
making new friends
as they both wave
in the winds

Enjoy your Sunday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

Poems

bigfoot & the Red

04JUL26

White & Blue

salute the red
white & blue
you should dread
if bigfoot fights you

old glory
slave to the wind
in an allegory
we wave to our big friend

over the land
on tall poles leaning
they both stand
in all souls meaning

they both move
like sister & brother
one is easier to prove
than the other
