Poems

after they have gazed

04MAR26

into his eyes

a real myth
read the rumors
to deal with
may need some humor

some claim a wild ape
but there is a rift
it is his shape
some say he can shift

many have been amazed
like a man they realize
after they have gazed
into his eyes

peeps around a tree
a hex or a blessing
keeps you and me
perplexed and guessing

but it is a win
puts on a smile
make sure you do it in
bigfoot style

I went to the Apple Store yesterday for my appointment. The fact that I am sitting in a place called the “Genius Bar” always makes me smirk. Everything seems to be working okay. So hopefully everything will run smoothly until the next update. And hopefully they will run smoothly even then.

We are getting closer to warmer weather. So soon we will be trying to shoot the motorcycle/drone videos of the steep and curvy roads in Appalachia. Yesterday I got some motorcycle keys copied. I have only found one locksmith in Louisville that carries the blanks for motorcycle keys. A Cheaper Locksmith in Middletown has been able to make copies of all of my motorcycle keys. So I highly recommend them. I looked at trying to order the blanks on the internet. But there seemed to be a little leeway in whether the blanks would work or not for my bikes. To me it is a lot better to let the locksmith look at it and do it on the spot or tell you he can get the right key. So I highly recommend A Cheaper Locksmith.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

NOTE: There is a menu with more video content. On a computer it is at the top of the screen. On a tablet or mobile device it is the 3 stacked slashes to the right of the word ASTRA. Enjoy the blog.

Poems

maybe just the illusion

21NOV25

of being in control

is ignorance a blessing
some how more kind
not wrecking or messing
with a closed mind

a silverware setting
a perfect table
safer not letting
horses out of the stable

a door closed
a candle unlit
maybe wisdom knows
we couldn't handle it

we drink the Kool-Aid
on top of the heap
a decision has been made
that prop we get to keep

some confusion
in the soul
maybe just the illusion
of being in control

the flag that blows
in freedom's winds
that flag knows
some big friends

I am still in the holler of my youth this morning. As I walk through the mountains and the memories that they hold I become more aware of what a special place this is for me. The motorcycles that we trailered in from Lexington KY, the GoPro, and the drone are all kind of like paintbrushes that I will use to try to paint them for you in the upcoming months. Hopefully you will be able to make sense out of what I come up with.

At this point I will probably stay through the weekend and return to Louisville on Monday morning. I want to try to avoid some of the Thanksgiving traffic.

I hope you have a great Friday!

SMILE : )

Poems

cease to add

18NOV25

and begin to subtract

use your wings
clear the fence
does anything
make any sense

pick your azimuth
start your path
have you had enough
of greed's math

you've been had
break the pact
cease to add
and begin to subtract

swear an oath to lack
like your big bud
as you both leave tracks
in the mud

I am spending another morning in the peaceful holler of my youth. I am still wrapping up loose ends on getting the bikes registered in Virginia while I remain a Kentucky resident. I am keeping an eye on the weather as I plan to return to Louisville. I usually try to drive on a day that has no rain. Driving for miles in a wave of water from the vehicles in front of you is to be avoided if possible.

I hope that you have a great Tuesday! Make someone smile : )

NOTE: For those of you new to the blog there is a Drop Down Menu with links to videos about both bigfoot and non bigfoot topics.

Poems

making sure his soul

29SEP25

stays in bounds

swing the axe
swing the gavel
move thru the facts
the truth to unravel

evil hides in fraud
and remains aloof
the path is broad
that explains the truth

you will learn
after you begin it
you can turn
and still be in it

bigfoot rolls
out on his rounds
making sure his soul
stays in bounds

remaining unbroken
looking with peeks
all is mind spoken
that he speaks

in the unknown
out of the view
feel it in your bones
as it rings true

This poem was inspired by a sermon that I listened to a Baptist preacher give yesterday where she explained some of the differences between facts and the truth. It was very well laid out and thought provoking.

I had planned on returning to Louisville today. But when I started to pack I realized that the drone batteries are 100% charged. I think it is recommended that you store them at 40-60%. So I will probably stay one more day so I can fly those batteries down to recommended storage power levels. While I am here I will also start putting the pictures that I took at the Woodbooger Festival in Norton into a you tube slide show that I will link from the blog.

If you are new to the blog you can access almost all of the links to videos in the Drop Down Menu section of the blog. You can access that on your mobile devices by tapping the 3 slashes to the right of the word ASTRA in the upper right hand corner of your screen. If you are on a laptop or desktop the menu should be across the top of your screen.

I hope you get your week off to a great start on this Monday. And if you do not there is still plenty of time to straighten it out and have fun. Smile a lot – like all week!

Poems

the wisp of smoke

10SEP25

holds a clue

like a pea
in a pod
you get to see
a lightning rod

watch it burn
clever is the flame
once you learn
it'll never be the same

you are free
your sight is true
now the tree
is split in two

but can you prove
what you see
as bigfoot moves
to another tree

the wisp of smoke
holds a clue
the joke
is on you

in a way
you've been clowned
it's just another day
on bigfoot's merry go round

I was tempted to use “go head and bay – like a hound” but I thought more people would be more familiar with being clowned than the long loud sounds that you hear when you deal with hounds. It makes me giggle because in a way all the bigfoot studies kind of remind me of a pack of hounds on the trail of something that is impossible to catch. And what makes me giggle even more is all of you who are reading this thinking to yourself “that’s because there is nothing to catch.”

It is good to giggle early in the day or really any time. Enjoy your day. Smile and giggle and make other people do it as well.

Poems

what is to come

01SEP25

will soon be past

build your friends
into mighty ships
ride the winds
mind your lips

waves are strong
over the deep
journey is long
your friends keep

what is to come
will soon be past
the beat of the drum
is just that fast

your wit employ
as the miles you race
let all enjoy
the smile on your face

bigfoot approves
and they understand
as they all move
together in bands

the ship steer
in the winds steady
they will appear
when we are ready

the wind blows
and plays forever free
and they know
that may never be

Enjoy your Labor Day!

Poems

it all requires

28AUG25

a sense of humor

the battle is fought
in our minds
the rhymes are caught
and on paper lined

our spirits are lifted
answering the call
of a cryptid
that's ten feet tall

like a Broadway play
try to raise the curtain
seems there is no way
to be absolutely certain

that will have to do
at least for now
do not expect him to
come out and take a bow

if you need
something exciting
go and read
about more sightings

as we inquire
and study the rumors
it all requires
a sense of humor

I am in a rush this morning. I am out the door for a medical appointment.

as you work your style
on this day
remember to smirk & smile
along the way
