incoming

proceed with ease
take a breather or two
no need to freeze
the ether will come thru

from where it comes
maybe your own soul
hear the drums
listen to them roll

you set sail
in lightning & thunder
trust the spell
that you move under

worthy the attempts
forward you put
may even get a glimpse
of the bigfoot

Enjoy your Wednesday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

are like bananas

a poem is a banana
each day you peel
like the manna
they found in the field

from the ether it escapes
with meaning & lustre
only a big ape
eats the whole cluster

some like 'em yellow
some like 'em green
or like the big fellow
in the in between

you could be driven
& take two
or take what's given
& make do

Enjoy your Thursday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

Poems

bigfoot & David Lynch

06JUL26

peeking twins

they set sail
as either looks
they both smell
what the ether cooks

lady of the lake
song sung blue
have a different take
strong & true

take their mind
give it wings
know you'll find
it riveting

they're both speaking
in the wind
they're both peeking
like twins

Enjoy your Monday. I hope it is a great week for all of us. Do not remain aloof from the goof.

This is another post about David Lynch. For those of you who are not familiar with him I will explain some of the lines. Peeking twins is a reference to his TV show Twin Peaks. His films and TV shows were very different to say the least. So that is where the line ” have a different take” comes from. Both he and bigfoot seem like they are from somewhere else. And both seem to be pointing at things we don’t know about. That is where the line “smell what the ether cooks” comes from. And the line “lady of the lake” kind of riffs on the mythical nature that they both share. And it points to the fact that there seems to be an awfully lot hidden and unrevealed.

Purple Haze in the holler

22JUL25

to help him hide

the singing birds
the fog is thick
waiting for the words
that the ether picks

I am optimistic
maybe even lazy
the path of the mystic
is often thru the hazy

able to tarry
I'm in no hurry
no burden I carry
we embrace the blurry

Purple Haze
with Jimi Hendrix
hope we'll be amazed
by what the pen picks

beginning of the day
bigfoot's smile is wide
just one more way
to help him hide

I am in the holler where I grew up this morning. In a little over an hour me and the photo bird will be flying above orange tractors on a hill top trying to figure things out. My brother and I spent a lot of time in hayfields when we were growing up. Back then it was all square bales. That type of hay was a lot more labor intensive than the round bales that he puts up today. I will probably write some more about the the hay in the next few days as I hang out in the holler with my brother and our family.

There are a lot of memories here. I am sure some of them will find their way onto the blog. As a matter of fact I suspect that they will probably force their way onto it. I think that we are all kind of like galleries that carry our pictures and memories with us. We should probably all spend some time periodically picking which ones to keep, treasure and exhibit and which ones to get rid of.

I hope you have a great day with smiles all around.
