bigfoot is bigger

26NOV25

and a lot faster

bigfoot and me in the woods
we're both facing the clear
know it cannot be good
we're chasing the same deer

I pull the trigger
but it is a disaster
bigfoot is bigger
and a lot faster

all around I stare
I hit it I know
but it's not there
where did it go

as bigfoot disappears
there behind a bolder
with my deer
over his shoulder

the big beast
I did not see
well at least
it's not me

I probably got on this subject because it is now deer season in the holler where I am staying. I do not personally deer hunt. But you can hear the high powered rifles shooting not that far away from you. During deer season I tend to go on less walks on the holler roads that are close to the woods. There is no need to take too many chances with a stray bullet.

Many of the bigfoot sighting reports and interviews are from people who deer hunt. And a common story is that the hunter believes that bigfoot got to the deer before they did. There is also the fact that hunters usually try to set up at sunrise and sundown. A lot of people believe this is the reason that they get to see bigfoot.

Most of the stories also include an explanation as to why they did not take a shot at bigfoot. Most of the time they say that either they were in too much shock in seeing something that does not exist, bigfoot’s face looked human or he was so huge that they were afraid that their high powered rifle would only make him mad.

I am linking a You Tube Short video with Scott Taylor. In this short video he talks about how big that the bigfoot are. He also mentions the hive mentality. That is that they seem to be aware of what other bigfoot know. In the Drop Down Menu you can find the full interview video by Scott Taylor that this You Tube Short was taken out of. There is also a video under Arizona to Alabama where Chuck Jacobs talks about the hive mentality. All of these videos are in the Bigfoot Videos section of the Drop Down Menu.

I hope you have a good day as you get ready for Thanksgiving!

hope bigfoot doesn’t mind

all the noise

I'm not a scholar
but I can learn
just left the holler
now I return

my brother & a trailer
they wait for me
together we are sailors
the interstate our sea

our sails will soar
for distant ports
as we head for
Central KY Motorsports

all of the sharks
we'll try to dodge
2 motorbikes we'll park
in his garage

the checks are signed
for the toys
hope bigfoot doesn't mind
all the noise

The motorcycles are used bikes and they both have after market exhausts that are louder than the stock ones. That is where the lines about the noise come from. But from a safety standpoint a lot of motorcyclists like to have loud bikes. Motorcycles tend to be almost invisible to other drivers. And the theory is that if they are at least aware of a noise they may look a little more. And I am pretty sure that mobile phones have made being on a bike even more dangerous.

The holler and the surrounding hills and mountains have an incredible amount of deer crossing the road. Maybe the sound will help with that too. But the deer are known for being very unpredictable.

I am getting ready to load the car and get on the road. I hope that you have a great Friday. Maybe something unpredictable and wonderful will happen!

it is a school

26AUG25

that never ends

amusement for our brain
helps it unlatch
sure to entertain
impossible to catch

the subject of debate
words cruel and blunt
out there he waits
to watch us hunt

studied on the android
studied on the iPhone
just to be toyed
with by the unknown

is he our brother
or is he the devil
more like on another
dimensional level

it is a school
that never ends
playing the fool
for our big friends

but during recess
every once in a while
we think about this mess
with a big smile

I am trying to get some loose ends wrapped up so I can return to Virginia and shoot some more drone footage of the scenery in Appalachia. I am making a list of some places that I want to fly the bird. It is so mountainous and steep with curvy roads that have overgrown overhanging trees that it will be difficult to figure out where I can launch the drone from. So on a lot of the missions I will probably recon one day and fly and shoot on another. A lot of things that make the area so beautiful also combine to make getting the bird in the air and being able to see it more difficult. And the FAA requires that you maintain visual contact with the drone at all times.

The light for shooting footage is usually best at sunrise and about the first hour after. And in that area that is a particularly hazardous time to drive because of all of the deer crossing the road. These days the deer are very plentiful. A couple of years ago at a family reunion I remember a cousin of mine saying that in the 70’s if you killed a deer they would put your picture in the county paper. These days you see deer all over the place.

The blog is still very much a work in progress. I am contemplating adding a bigfoot book review section and some type of listing of all of the posts that contain links to bigfoot videos to the drop down menu. In constructing the blog I have to keep an eye on what all the additions do to the speed and responsiveness of the blog when you click on it or items in it on your devices.

I hope you have a great day!

holler hilltop sunrise

24JUL25

sun over the hilltop

sun over the hilltop
and across the field
helps grow the crops
with the power it wields

robins riding their wings
land and peck the ground
they take time to sing
to those of us earthbound

not that far a whitetail
it is not that fleeting
before he sets sail
maybe it is a greeting

then fast as the wind
getting gone is good
like his big friend
out in the woods

try to be aware
that it is good
that we share
this neighborhood

know it's our duty
in the heart of it
all of this beauty
we're all part of it

a holy hymn
it is easy to see
it is more them
than it is me

This post is getting out a little late this morning. I drove up to the hilltop hayfield where we have been filming the last 2 days to check out how it looks at sunrise. After we have the field sitting full of round hay bales I may try to fly the drone thru and over it at sunrise to catch some of the beautiful morning light. Sunrise was at 0631 and I was on the hilltop from 0600 till 0700. So that is my excuse : )

On the way up to the hilltop I kept on seeing robins on the pavement. I guess they were trying to catch insects before daylight. And then I remembered to drive really slow. Because that time of day is really dangerous because of all the deer crossing the road. My nephew has hit so many deer on the way to work early in the morning that I accuse him of doing it on purpose. He has to drive this very steep and curvy country road in the dark. I told him that I think that when he gets to the most dangerous part of the drive that he turns off the headlights and puts on a pair of night vision goggles so he can sneak up on the deer. He just laughs. He and my brother have a lot of good stories about all the things they have seen driving back and forth to work in the dark. My brother has a story about finding himself in the middle of a bunch of galloping horses that had somehow gotten out onto the road at night. He said he just knew he was going to hit one but somehow they all avoided each other.

As I was walking out of the field toward the gate I looked across the road and saw 2 deer standing perfectly still watching me walk. They stood there for along time. I could see what looked like a smaller deer at the wood line. They finally broke their stance and headed back for what I assume was their child and did a lap around the field and disappeared back into the woods. It was very peaceful and pretty there in that field as the shadows gave way to the sunlight.

I hope as you go thru your day that you find and enjoy the beauty that is in it. And I hope that it makes you smile.
