sunset in he holler

27JUL25

somewhere bigfoot smiles

I knew I would
eat the fried potatoes
they're almost as good
as the fried green tomatoes

throwing frisbee
under the setting sun
how could this be
this much fun

kids 10 and 6
need to keep an eye
they try the same tricks
that I used to try

a kid named Bo
it's his turn now
he makes his throw
sitting on a plow

then Ally plays
her frisbee takes flight
it is almost always
way wide right

a dog slips it noose
gets out of its collar
now it's on the loose
in the holler

kids red faced
eyes real big
begin the chase
in a side by side rig

the dog caught
to the cage returned
a lesson taught
& hopefully learned

for those concerned
with who what when
he actually turned
himself in

all in all
fun plays its tune
as it falls
the sun gives way to the moon

somewhere bigfoot smiles
I think I know why
it's usually his style
to have family close by

I guess this is kind of my way of trying to give you a rhyming report of how I wrapped up my Saturday in the holler. Hope that you enjoy your Sunday!
