back together

with a smile and a wink
it is still true
sometimes it is better to think
than to do

before out you set
better do some preparing
may be better to get
all of your bearings

some time in the shade
wise counsel keep
before you wade 
in too deep

better just to stand
and think about whether
to get the band 
back together

that big distraction
all ten feet tall
sometimes his best action
is to do nothing at all

he knows the ropes
and not to push
he just stoops and hopes
you think he is a bush

I am still in the holler in the mountains of Virginia this morning. I spent most of yesterday operating the GoPro while watching a You Tube tutorial. I also spent a lot of time talking with relatives who are visiting across the road. It is important to do that especially when they can share so much of the back story to both the things you know and the things that you didn’t have a clue about. It is kind of like shining a big light into the past. During almost the entire visit a very charming chihuahua decided that right beside my leg was going to be his perch. So he spent the entire conversation there gazing out over his domain when he wasn’t dozing off. (Since this is a bigfoot blog I feel a responsibility to mention that a popular bigfoot T shirt is one with bigfoot walking a chihuahua.)
