on the Roman Road
today we're here
tomorrow we're gone
is anything clear
about the unknown
a life of service
how many bereft
are you nervous
about your own death
along we come
away we go
the roll of the drum
steady & slow
a falling gavel
your tome stowed
does bigfoot travel
the Roman Road
Enjoy your Wednesday. Do not remain aloof from the goof.
We lost a 3 & 1/2 month old donkey last night. I listened to the mom bray thoughout the night. She is still braying this morning as I write this. So that probably influenced this morning’s poem.
The Roman Road is Romans 10:9-13. Many ministers read this passage to lead others to become Christians. I read it out loud right before my brother spread my father’s ashes twelve days ago.
The word Traveller is a nod to another famous beast of burden. Traveller was the name of Robert E. Lee’s horse.
NOTE: The blog has a menu with more video content. On a computer it is at the top of the screen. On tablet or mobile device it is the 3 stacked slashes to the right of the word ASTRA. Enjoy the blog.
